It goes without saying that 2020 has been a trying year for everyone. It could be said, however, that those on the frontlines in the PR and communications industry have faced a unique challenge. The ever-evolving nature of COVID-19 combined with the uncertainties of social unrest and an upcoming election have left many PR professionals with little room to rest between each crisis.

Join us on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 12 to 1 p.m. as Samantha Elder, director of strategic initiatives and communications at Montgomery County ADAMHS, discusses how PR and communications professionals haven’t been immune to the overall uptick in mental health cases over the past six months. During this virtual event, Samantha will give a big-picture view of mental health and quickly dive down into how it is affecting those working in the industry. She’ll touch on:

  • What her organization is seeing in the mental/behavioral health field
  • Explain anxiety and how it affects professionals
  • How the information professionals are tasked with communicating can personally affect them
  • Why it’s important to maintain mental health in a field of “heavy” news
