Unless you are a CEO, it is very likely that you’ll need to manage up—i.e. directing your immediate supervisor, a vice president or C-suite leader—to complete high stakes tasks and projects. In this lunch session, J. Matthew (Matt) Becker, owner Authentic Excellence, will explain the neuroscience of how our brains react to a crisis and what we must consider to keep our cool in triggered situations—don’t worry if you failed biology, if you can make a fist, a neuroscience conversation will not be intimidating! He will also walk the audience through interactive active listening techniques and teach you how to better frame your questions to get the most from strategic conversations. Matt will use real life examples to help audience members of varying career experiences understand how to better communicate across the professional spectrum.
