When exotic animals escaped in Zanesville last fall, it brought a hailstorm of media attention. Our speaker was able to prepare for this situation well in advance by watching patterns and trends and taking advantage of them to promote awareness for an important national cause and his film. Mike Webber is the producer/director of the runaway hit documentary The Elephant in the Living Room, winner of 5 Best Documentary Awards and among the highest rated films of the 2011. Through the use of a PR firm, learn how “Elephant” became the one of the most highly publicized independent films of the year by focusing on promotion rather than traditional marketing and how anticipating the Zanesville incident served as a unique opportunity to generate awareness for the movie and the important issues that it brings to light.

During this session, attendees will learn:

  • How to prepare for the inevitable and ways to become a positive contributor
  • How to use current events to generate awareness for your issue or company
  • How to generate tens of millions of media impressions without spending a penny
