Dayton Area PRism Awards 2018

Today's News is Tomorrow's History

The Dayton Area Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is ready to make some history as we honor the outstanding local PR pros, programs and projects that people will be talking about for years to come. The annual PRism Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 3 at the Steam Plant in Dayton. Join us for “History in the Making,” an evening event where those with the “Wright stuff” will be recognized as the pride of Dayton.

Dates that will live in infamy:

March 1 – Deadline for individual awards (Young Professional, Communications Professional, Media Friend, Newsmaker)
March 15 – Early bird awards submission deadline
March 23 – Final awards submission deadline
May 3 – PRism Awards Dinner

Recognizing PR pros – The individual awards

This year we have separated the deadline for individual award nominations from the PRism submission deadlines so that Dayton’s finest don’t miss their date with destiny. But, we need your help. In 2018 we are proud to honor:

  • Up and Comer of the Year: Given to a professional with five or less years of professional experience who is making a positive impact on the field of PR.
  • “Smitty Award” Communications Professional of the Year: This award will honor an area communicator with 15 or more years of experience who is at the top of their game. Does not need to be a PRSA member, but history looks kindly on those who are.
  • Media Friend of the Year: Nominate an individual working in the media who has been  instrumental in building a trusting professional relationship that has benefitted your organization or client and the public.
  • Newsmaker of the Year: This award will honor a Dayton area person who is not a professional communicator but whose communications acumen and media savvy has advanced our community in a positive way.
